Steps

  1. This field used to want a hand-typed /events/… URL. Nobody memorises URLs, which is exactly why plan 77 built a picker for people.

  2. It matches on NAME or VENUE — the search_users shape, applied to events — and each row shows the show the standard way: name, date, venue, status. Never a bare id.

  3. The selection becomes a hidden input carrying the event id, so the stored shape is unchanged — the picker fills the same link_href.

  4. The window came from plan 97's quick buttons on the same form — this whole announcement was made without typing a URL or a timestamp.

  5. The end of the chain the whole feature exists for — and the banner goes straight to the show, because the link was chosen from the database rather than typed from memory.
