Get through the door

PASSING SMOKE VIP MemberDoor StaffVenue Manager 13 steps · 93.1s · recorded Aug 30, 2:41 PM · 3499cea

Speed

A member opens their rotating QR pass; door staff paste the payload into the scanner and get an ALLOW. The rotating code is computed client-side, so the assertion is server-side: the scan endpoint's verdict is the proof.

Steps

  1. Signed in already — the sign-in press belongs to whoever owns it, so the count starts here.

  2. CLB1:<serial>:<6-digit TOTP>, recomputed in the member's browser every 15 s. Only the server can say whether it is valid.

  3. Green means the server accepted the rotating code, the pass is live, the zone matches the reader, and the entry was logged.

  4. A supported state, not a failure: the network at a warehouse door is the least reliable thing in this product.

  5. Reconciling is not rewriting: the stored verdict stays green because the guest is inside. What changes is that somebody now knows nobody checked them.
