Leave feedback on the app itself

PASSING GATE Venue Manager 13 steps · 15.1s · recorded Aug 25, 9:09 PM · eadc380

Speed

The feature that reviews the product from inside the product: turn feedback mode on from the ✎ pill, hover any block, pin a note to that exact element, and watch it land in the review backlog with its page, its selector, its category and its priority.

Steps

  1. Bottom-right of EVERY page, not only pages that already have notes — it is the feature's front door. It steps above anything fixed that owns the bottom of the viewport instead of covering it.

  2. Once per browser. 'Leave feedback' is not a guessable meaning for a floating button, and a label alone still does not say that the notes attach to parts of the page.

  3. A verb, not a status label. Turning it on closes the drawer — it covers the right third of a desktop and the whole of a phone, and the very next thing you have to do is hover the page. The mode is stored per user on the SERVER, so it survives a device change.

  4. A dashed outline marks what the note would attach to, and a 44px ✎ pins itself to that block's top-right corner. The ✎ lives in the overlay layer, so nothing underneath it stops working.

  5. Both are server-validated vocabularies (bug/copy/layout/feature/question, low/normal/high) — the backlog filters and the Markdown export are built on them.

  6. Saved with the page path, a generated CSS selector, the element's tag, its classes and its text snippet — so it can find its way back to this exact block on the next page load, and say so when it cannot.

  7. Marker numbers are assigned SERVER-side, over every note on the page, so every viewer sees the same ones.

  8. The collapsed bar is one row at every role; the full role-gated navigation lives in this panel and closes as soon as you leave.

  9. In the site menu under Staff. Members get /my/annotations — their own notes, same data, scoped.

  10. Page, element, snippet, category, priority, author, anchor health. The whole filtered set exports as a Markdown checklist you can paste straight into a tracker.
